Corona Virus - Information
All personal contact services were suspended during the lockdown phase of the corona virus. Services provided remotely or carried out outside the house remain available.
The government has recently issued guidelines that allow domestic cleaning services to resume.
Details on this sector specific guidance are available at: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/working-safely-during-coronavirus-covid-19/homes
Houseproud Domestic Cleaning Return to Work
Subject to changes in the prevailing pandemic situation we plan to start a phased return to providing domestic cleaning services from the week commencing 1 June 2020.
During Step 2 of the government's return to work process we will focus on providing cleaning to houses where there is no-one present in the house during the clean. This will provide an additional level of protection to all involved above that specified by the government guidelines.
Where it is possible to safely follow social distancing and associated guidelines in an occupied house then we are happy to discuss arrangements to make it safe for all.
Expectation is that Step 2 will commence around 1 June 2020. We will review our return to work policy as the government issues new guidance.
We will not be able to provide a cleaning service to those in the highest risk group and who are currently shielding. I would recommend that we also do not provide service to those in the vulnerable category at this time.
All colleagues can opt out of restarting work should they wish to do so while the virus is a concern.
With schools not fully operational some of the cleaners have childcare/home schooling responsibility.
Self isolating with any symptoms either personally or as part of the household is mandatory.
We cannot guarantee the usual cleaners will attend a house at this time.
We may be able to provide only one cleaner rather than two.
We may need to reschedule at short notice in the event of any self isolation.
The cleaner guidelines for carrying out domestic cleaning are based on government guidelines and currently include:
All government guidelines which are currently in place should be followed.
No work should be carried out by a cleaner who has coronavirus symptoms, however mild, or when someone in their own household has symptoms.
Clients should be notified in advance of the visit (this would normally be the case in any scheduled visit).
On entry to the home you should wash your hands using soap and water for 20 seconds. You should wash your hands regularly, particularly after blowing your nose, sneezing or coughing, and when leaving the property. Where facilities to wash hands are not available, hand sanitiser should be used, and you should carry this with you at all times.
You should maintain a safe distance (at least 2 metres) from any household occupants (including colleagues who do not reside in your household) at all times, and ensure good ventilation in the area where you are working, including opening the window.
Gloves must be worn in the houses. Special care should be taken when removing/disposing of gloves to avoid any possible contamination of your hands.
If you are not the only person in the house then you should wear a face covering. Again please take care when putting on and taking off face coverings.
In return, and to help ensure the health of the cleaners, we would please ask for the following guidelines to be observed:
Always cancel the visit if anyone in the house has the virus, symptoms or is self isolating.
Please advise us if anyone in the house is in a vulnerable group.
Please make handwashing facilities available where possible.
Please enable good ventilation where possible.
Please leave all internal doors open where possible to minimise contact with door handles.
It would be ideal if the house could be unoccupied during the clean. If this is not possible then we may still be able to work subject to social distancing measures outlined below.
When people from the house are present during the cleaning please could they
also wear face coverings while in the same room as the cleaners. It is the advice that this may slightly reduce the risk of transmission to others.
also observe at least the current social distancing rules in place at the time (2m distance).
remain on a separate floor level to the cleaners or in a closed room which is not being cleaned.
Clearly each household may be impacted differently by the pandemic and we would welcome an understanding of your position with regards to possible resumption of cleaning services.
Corona Virus - Services Update
During the period of the corona virus lockdown a number of new services covering both home based services (SL6 area) and personal wellbeing have been added to the offering. They can be seen either on the Home Page scroll bar or via the Services Page from the main menu.
We have also created an online Shop facility offering a range of locally produced lifestyle candles, bath salts and accessories.
